Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Long Island City Team Behind DryMark Restoration Long Island City
We’re the crew that shows up when water’s still moving through your walls or mold’s turned a basement into a health hazard. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and verified before they ever pulled into a Long Island City driveway. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s that we’ve all seen what happens when restoration work gets rushed, undocumented, or sold on a handshake. We don’t do that here.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started DryMark Restoration in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose thousands because a drying log was missing or a photo didn’t get taken. That documentation gap is why I built this company around The Haven Standard. I still review every written scope before it goes out, and I’ll take the call at 2 a.m. if a pipe bursts in Hunters Point and the customer needs to know someone’s actually coming. I live in Queens. These are my neighbors.
Marcus T., Lead Water Technician
Marcus has been running mitigation crews for nine years, and he’s certified in Applied Structural Drying through the IICRC. He can walk into a flooded ground-floor unit near the Queensboro Bridge, take one look at the baseboard swelling pattern, and tell you whether the water came from a supply line or a backed-up drain. He keeps a laminated psychrometric chart in his truck and actually uses it to explain vapor pressure differential to customers, that’s the force that moves moisture from wet materials into dry air, and why we position dehumidifiers the way we do. Off the job, he restores vintage motorcycles in a garage in Sunnyside. The patience translates.
Elena R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Elena joined us in 2019 after running her own small abatement company in Brooklyn. She specializes in tertiary drying, the final phase where most crews pack up too early and mold gets a foothold behind finished walls. She’ll stay until moisture readings hit the dry standard for gypsum board, not just “looks dry.” Customers in Dutch Kills remember her because she texts them photos of every containment build and explains why negative air pressure matters in a 400-square-foot basement versus a 2,000-square-foot loft. She has a rescue pit bull named Wallace who comes to the shop on Saturdays.
Darnell K., Service Coordinator
Darnell answers the phones that ring at 3 a.m. He’s the live person who picks up, every time, no voicemail tree. Before he came to us, he spent four years dispatching for FDNY EMS in the Bronx, so he’s heard worse than your burst pipe and he doesn’t panic. He coordinates with adjusters, schedules around ConEd shutoffs, and knows which Long Island City buildings have freight elevators that actually work on weekends. He keeps a handwritten log of every call because he’s suspicious of software that crashes during storms. He plays jazz drums at a bar in Astoria on Thursday nights. You can hear the rhythm in how he talks customers through the first twenty minutes after a flood.
Jin P., Restoration Apprentice
Jin started with us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at Queensborough Community College. He’s still building his certification hours, but he’s already the person Marcus asks to set up Injectidry floor mats because Jin measures hose runs to the inch and labels every port. He grew up in a rent-stabilized building in Woodside where the super did everything himself, badly, so Jin understands why customers flinch when a technician says “we’ll figure it out on site.” He doesn’t say that. He writes it down first. Haven Standard, Clause 1. He’s learning to read thermal imaging and asks Elena to check his interpretation before he logs it. That caution will make him good.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re drying out a studio near the 7 train or remediating mold in a converted industrial loft by the waterfront. Alicia built it after watching too many claims get denied for missing documentation, and every person on this page operates under it. Clause 1 means the written price arrives before any work starts. The photo record gets delivered on every visit, not offered as an upgrade. The 365-Day Done Right Promise is signed, not mentioned in passing.
We’re independently owned and operated. No corporate office in another state decides what equipment we deploy or whether a job is “done.” Marcus chooses the Dri-Eaz or Phoenix units based on the specific moisture load. Elena decides when containment comes down. Darnell coordinates directly with your adjuster because he’s the one who took your call. Jin learns by doing it right, not by cutting corners to hit a quota.
That’s the crew. If you need us, you’ll know who’s coming.
